Complete Spray Foam
Insulation Process
Spray foam insulation delivers powerful results when every step is done right. From planning and preparation to application and cleanup, each phase is designed to keep your project efficient, on time, and built to last. Most spray foam insulation projects are completed in about 5 to 8 days, depending on the size of the building and site conditions. Each step plays an interdependent role in delivering a strong, lasting result.
-
Step 1: Initial Consultation & Free Estimate
Every spray foam insulation project begins with an on-site consultation. We meet with you to understand your goals, budget, and timeline, and perform a detailed inspection of the property. After assessing the site, we recommend the best spray foam solution — whether open-cell or closed-cell — based on your building’s needs.
Note: Travel to remote locations across Alaska may extend the initial scheduling or consultation time slightly, depending on accessibility and weather conditions.
-
Step 2 : Site Preparation and Safety Measures
Before any sprayable foam is applied, we carefully prepare your site. This includes protecting exposed surfaces, setting up safe zones, and ensuring proper ventilation to maintain a clean, safe environment.
All surfaces are checked to ensure they’re clean, dry, and at the right temperature for strong adhesion of the sprayable insulation. Our team follows strict safety protocols, using full PPE (personal protective equipment) and professional-grade equipment to set the stage for a smooth spray foam application.
-
Step 3: Spray Foam Application
After preparation, we apply the spray foam.
Precision equipment mixes polyol resin and isocyanate to create a high-quality spray foam spray. We apply thin, controlled layers, which expand instantly to seal cracks, gaps, and cavities.
The insulation cures for 24 to 48 hours, hardening and off-gassing. Allow 24 to 48 hours for proper curing and safe re-entry, depending on ventilation and building conditions. Most applications are completed within one to two days, excluding curing time.
-
Step 4: Thorough Quality Inspection
After the sprayable foam is applied, we complete a full inspection to verify proper thickness, coverage, and adhesion. Any thin or uneven areas are addressed with touch-ups to ensure complete thermal protection and compliance with building codes. This detailed check guarantees the long-term performance of your spray insulation.
-
Step 5: Clean-Up and Final Walkthrough
After curing, we remove all masking materials, clean the worksite, and prepare the area for the next phase of construction or occupancy. During the final walkthrough, we review the completed spray foam insulation project with you, answer any questions, and ensure you are fully satisfied with the results.
The final step leaves you with clean, professionally installed spray foam insulation, designed for lasting energy savings and comfort.
